LIVE-STREAMING! “Masculinity and Manhood”

This year’s conference will serve as a pilot study to understand how best to provide access to events, first for our  non-NY area institute and organizational colleagues, and then for individuals, in the US and other countries.

We are excited to announce an opportunity for us all to connect and share in NAAP’s 2016 annual conference by live-streaming over the internet. We just learned that our conference venue, New York Law School, can provide this option for a limited number of wifi connections. NAAP is especially committed to opening more avenues for collegial exchange with psychoanalysts and mental health professionals throughout the country, as well as abroad.

This year’s conference will serve as a pilot study to understand how best to provide access to events, first for our institute and organizational colleagues, and then for individuals. We hope you will utilize this opportunity as a vehicle to bring members of your community together for a day’s, or two, joint participation. The conference link will be available registered groups for a period of time after Nov. 12th, enabling you to offer it as a one or two part event. You can use it to get folks together, to inspire conversation about the meaning of Manhood today and its impact in our practices-culture-homes, and/or as a fundraising event for your group.

We are also working on a procedure for distance registrants to participate in the Q&A portions of the conference live via text or chat.

This is a pilot project and we do want to connect with as many of our NAAP partners around the country, and in other parts of the world, as possible. Take advantage of this opportunity to share in our terrific program “Masculinity and Madness” either in real time or on your own schedule.

The fee for will be participation $75.

Links will be allocated on a first come basis.

Technical requirements: computer, monitor, internet connection. The more bandwidth you have, the better. However standard home connectivity is fine. Depending on the size of your group, an external speaker may also be useful.

Continuing Education certificates (up to 6 hours) can be provided on request for $15/certificate. Participants’ attendance must be recorded and an evaluation provided at the completion of the program. Check with your state Office of Professions. NAAP is a NY State approved CE provider for social workers. Many other states accept these CE hours for social workers, mental health counselors, art therapists, psychoanalysts, and marriage and family therapists.

Please contact me at patbratt@comcast.net with any questions or to arrange for your participation.

Join us! NAAP’s conference, and its distinguished speakers, addresses a topic of such timely importance and relevance to us professionally and personally. We very much want to share the day with you and our many colleagues who cannot be in NY in person!
