Psychotherapist/Psychoanalyst

Psychotherapist/Psychoanalyst

I am an intersubjective self-psychologist with an academic background in literature and philosophy. As a clinician, I work with many different patients struggling with many different challenges and conflicts. I have been particularly effective with helping people manage feelings of anxiety and work through difficulties with trauma and traumatic loss.

Kimberly Bush, LCAT, LP

I have been practicing psychotherapy with adults, adolescents, and children for over 25 years. I am licensed as a Psychoanalyst and Creative Arts Therapist, as well as having certifications as a Child Life Specialist and Sandplay Practitioner. My practice is rooted in building a compassionate and collaborative relationship with my clients while providing a safe space for sharing and working through difficult experiences and feelings. I use a relational and humanistic approach to address issues related to attachment, trauma and recovery, bereavement and grief, depression and anxiety, and the impact of medical or healthcare diagnoses. By integrating the creative arts and traditional talk therapy, we have an opportunity to express feelings non-verbally and encourage a connection to personal symbols, while engaging in art making and dialogue. Together, we work to uncover strengths and release patterns of behavior that have become repetitious or painful. I believe that therapy begins with building a safe relationship. Working with imagery is an act that respects the unknown and the unconscious within our collective human potential and makes it visible. In addition to my private practice, I provide creative arts therapy and psychotherapy services in hospital and educational settings as well as serving as a supervisor to graduate students and professionals. Please feel free to call or email me for further information or to schedule an initial consultation.
